Esbelt S.A. is a Barcelona-based company that manufactures thermoplastic conveyor belts. With more than 50 years of experience in the market, it has subsidiaries in the USA, France, Germany and Denmark. Its headquarters is located in Manlleu and it has a large team of specialized engineers and commercial technicians, who advise and guarantee the best performance of its products in many different industries around the world.

Project scope

The project was born with the aim of redesigning the company’s obsolete business analysis, creating a new BI solution that allows the company to manage the business in an integrated and scalable way to cover all current and future needs.

Additionally, the solution incorporates not only business information but also stock data, covering both the parent company and all the subsidiaries in a single solution.

Project description

The final project is a Power BI solution that integrates sales and stock information for the entire company. Its flexibility allows a global vision at a strategic level for the general management, in addition to granularity and detailed analysis by area, customer or product for each of the members of the sales network, both on desktop and mobile devices & tablets.

Key features:

  • Solution that integrates business and stock data from the entire company and all its subsidiaries globally.
  • Global commercial analysis, comparison with budget and previous years, analysis of costs and margins, breakdown by areas or by products, all of which allows to strategically understand the business and make commercial decisions.
  • Detailed analysis by commercial of its own area, being able to analyze customers (turnover, evolution, most purchased products, orders), as well as products and all their features (including substitutive products) to have in a single environment the comprehensive management of its entire territory.
  • Real-time stock information on mobile devices of the entire sales network allows sales representatives to manage orders reliably, avoiding stock-outs and offering the best available material with the shortest delivery time.
  • Self-service analysis space, where each user can create the report he/she needs.
  • Scalable platform that allows incorporating future financial or operational analysis.
  • Reduced licensing costs vs. the old QlikView solution.
