Our client is a leading company in integrated water cycle management in Spain. This includes everything from water intake and purification to wastewater treatment and its return to the environment. Currently, the company is also making progress in reusing treated water to increase the volume of available water resources.

Project Scope

The project arose from the need to digitize and automate the planning and monitoring processes of water supply costs and to replace Microsoft Excel as the main and only tool, due to its scalability limitations and version management issues.

The project involved the development of a new tool designed to support the following functional processes:

Preparation of different types of budgets, which may cover one or more years and incorporate data from the monitoring process.
Monthly cost tracking based on actual, estimated, and provisioned figures.

Additionally, the tool needed to facilitate comparisons between different versions of both processes and allow the import of historical data.

Project Description

The project resulted in the development of a tool using Board technology, comprising the following elements:

A single generic configuration environment that allows users to create new elements and modify existing parameters, keeping the solution always aligned with reality.
A working interface for budgeting and another for cost tracking, enabling users to copy data from other versions, manually enter information, and perform calculations.
A set of output screens displaying customized reports that allow data analysis at various levels of detail. Users also have the autonomy to create new reports, provided they have the required training in Board.
A module for uploading historical information from previously used Excel files.

The project has enabled the company to adopt a scalable, flexible, and comprehensive tool that allows them to:
